Welcome to the official website of the 42nd Media Criticism Colloquium, brought to you by the final year students of the Faculty of Communication in Media Studies (Hons) Journalism from the University of Technology MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam.

 

This colloquium is an upcoming event to be held on the 17th of December 2020 and it aims to bridge the gaps of knowledge pertaining to the journalism industry, not only amongst future and current journalists, but also within the public sphere.

 

This time around, we bring to you Journalism in A Pandemic: Adapting and Evolving, and as the name suggests, it will center around how the journalism world is faring within the current climate of the world in dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak.

 

What’s special about this event is that for the first time ever, it will be conducted entirely virtually, keeping in line with our theme whilst also abiding to social distancing measures.

 

Our goals are to gain better insight and understanding regarding shifts in the journalism world occurring during the pandemic, to discuss the best ways to prepare ourselves for the future of the journalism industry and also to dissect the ways in which the media industry can retain relevance in the era of globalization.
